Melissa Rummel is Vice President of Development for Nichols Partnership.

Melissa found her path to real estate development in 2008 by way of real estate brokerage, urban planning and a love for infill placemaking. Melissa joined Nichols Partnership in 2013 bringing public and private experience across all facets of development and urban planning.

Since joining Nichols Partnership, Melissa has overseen close to one million square feet of mixed use office, multi-family, and hotel projects. This includes two high-rise office to apartment conversion projects; Art Studios and Turntable Studios.

Melissa holds a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Colorado in Denver (2012) and a dual-Bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Affairs from the University of Colorado in Boulder (2004). Prior to joining Nichols Partnership, Melissa worked in development at the Denver Housing Authority where she focused on multifamily and master planning projects. While at DHA, she pioneered the adaptive reuse of a historic Horse Barn warehouse into shared-office space for non-profits and entrepreneurs.

Melissa serves the broader real estate community as an active ULI Multifamily Product Council member, mayoral appointed Denver Design Advisory Board member (2019-2021), member of various Denver development Task Force committees, and has maintained an active real estate brokerage license for the past fifteen years. When not exploring cities or engaging in community development projects, you’ll find her on her mountain bike or skiing the backcountry.
